Bigpicture webinar on open source tools in digital pathology
Register now for the Bigpicture Webinar on open source tools in digital pathology, held on Friday 27 October, 15:00-16:00 (CEST). Andreas Poehlmann, Senior Machine Learning Data Engineer at Pfizer, who formerly worked at Bayer, will present a set of open-source tools developed at Bayer targeting specific tasks common in machine learning workflows in digital pathology.
Description of the webinar
All open-source tools adhere to the Unix mentality of doing one thing and doing it well. Combined they form the “Pathological Suite”.
During the webinar, we will dive into each individual tool, explore its use cases and potential for future improvements.
- paquo: A tool designed to make QuPath projects accessible from Python
- tiffslide: An alternative to the commonly used openslide python library, with a focus on performance and cloud native whole slide image access
- pado: A dataset library for managing whole slide image datasets together with their metadata and annotation data in a cloud native manner
- pavo: A visualization tool backed by pado, which allows to inspect digital pathology datasets and easily prototype new visualizations
The webinar will also dive into the benefits of open-source collaboration, and give some recommendations on developing in public and provide examples of community interactions.
Registration is free of charge for the Bigpicture community.
