The WP1 objective is to efficiently manage the Bigpicture partnership and to ensure successful dissemination of the project results.
The deliverables outlined in our strategy are divided over six Work Packages, which are co-led by one public and one private sector beneficiary. The three Task Forces create efficient working groups dedicated to a specific topic which cuts across multiple work packages.
The WP1 objective is to efficiently manage the Bigpicture partnership and to ensure successful dissemination of the project results.
The WP2 objective is to deliver the infrastructure hosting the several petabytes of 3 million digital slides required for several petabytes of data storage.
The WP3 objectives are to establish and employ a sustainable node network organisation model, to define and prioritise datasets within each node, to employ software and deliver mechanism of security.
The WP4 objectives are to develop tools for accessing, uploading, annotating and mining digital slides in a two-tiered approach.
The WP5 objectives are a) to ensure ethical and legal compliance of work performed within Bigpicture in a consistent and coherent manner, b) to establish a regulatory dialogue working group (RDWG), and c) to create, coordinate, and implement quality control for the generation of WSI data in an “AI-ready” manner.
The WP6 objective is to develop a sustainable, trustworthy digital AI pathology platform for research and innovation. The sustainability team will develop a step-by-step plan to ensure that the Bigpicture architecture, strategy and operations are rooted in Bigpicture's core guiding principles.
The remit of the Bigpicture Architecture Task Force is to create, model and describe the Bigpicture enterprise architecture target phase definition in collaboration with all WPs and other task forces.
The goal of the HB Taskforce is to oversee a consistent implementation of the Honest Broker mechanism that enables development of a sustainable and secure community-based platform for protected personal data sharing for research and innovation, according to the EU legislation.
The remit of the GDPR Taskforce is to oversee a consistent implementation of all aspects of personal data protection across the Bigpicture project, according to the regulations set out in the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The Metadata Task force aims to align all data and metadata work within the project, including setting the repository data model.
