The third Computational Pathology Workshop (COMPAY) was held on September 27, 2021, in conjunction with the Medical Image Computing and Computed Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) conference. This was the third edition of a successful series of scientific events that have de-facto created a reference space for sharing and discussing computational pathology research within the MICCAI conference. COMPAY 2021 was organized by computational pathology researchers from several institutes and pharmaceutical companies, most of them connected with the BigPicture project. The full-day event featured three keynotes from prestigious speakers representative of pathology diagnostics, computational pathology research and industry: Dr. Monika Lamba Saini (Pathologist/Principal Investigator, CellCarta, Belgium), Dr. Chen Sagiv (Co-founder and co CEO DeePathology Ltd.), and Dr. Faisal Mahmood (Harvard Medical School, US). Furthermore, 23 original scientific works have been presented either as oral or poster presentations. Finally, Dr. Katherine Elkfer (FDA), Dr. Roberto Salgado (Immuno Oncology Working Group) and Prof. Inti Zlobec (University of Bern) joined invited speakers in a panel discussion on the present and future of computational pathology.
