Federated Learning for digital histopathology: challenges and opportunities

Deep learning applied to digital histopathology slides has a huge potential to provide novel insights on ill-understood diseases. However, single institutions often do not possess enough data to reach best performance, and centralizing datasets is often impossible due to regulations and data sensitivity. Federated Learning (FL) is a new paradigm that allows to collaboratively train a joint model without centralizing data, thereby reaching a critical mass of data while enhancing patient privacy.

In this webinar, speaker Jean Ogier du Terrail, PhD (Owkin), will introduce the main federated learning concepts, opportunities, and open questions, building on recent research as well as lessons learnt from real-world deployments.

This is an open webinar, but registration is mandatory.
