Task Force Honest Broker

Task Force Honest broker will manage the processes that safeguard data is only given out under the conditions that were provided by the data controller/contributor. The aim is to provide a mechanism that is fair, effective and trusted. It will enable sharing and analysing the slide collections and associated information provided by the clinical and EFPIA partners to the Bigpicture repository.


 

 

The team

  • Olli Carpén
    Olli Carpén is professor of pathology at the University of Helsinki and scientific director at Helsinki Biobank. He is vice chair of the Assembly of Members of BBMRI-ERIC. His research focus is ovarian cancer.

Main Objectives

The Task Force will build an Honest broker mechanism with the following functionalities:

  • Trust framework formed by contracts and/or code of conduct, in compliance with GDPR when applicable
  • Federated identity management technologies and processes
  • Federated dataset access management processes
  • Trusted identity and dataset access information sources for the technical framework
  • Oversight and advise for potential data contributors on anonymisation and pseudonymisation best practices
